Congratulations Laura & Laura! What a beautiful wedding celebration today at Rancho Buena Vista Adobe in Vista.

These two amazing women were such a treat, it was an honor to officiate their wedding ceremony.

They created a very unique Unity Ceremony, inspired by their love of chocolate. And during the ceremony, shared with their guests!

A delicious ceremony treat for wedding guests

A delicious ceremony treat for wedding guests

There will be times that are sweet,
filled with cream and honey,
and times that are dark and bittersweet.
And probably some times that are really nutty!
But every experience will nourish your body,
heart and soul.

It is a great reminder to get creative with your wedding ceremony! Think about what you love (like chocolate!) and incorporate that into your ceremony.

PS. Wedding planner extraordinaire Julie Scrivner pulled everything together with ease!

Lisa and Garrett’s August wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado combined the sophistication of that beautiful venue infused with celebrating Aussie-style.
The Australian bride’s family traveled all the way to San Diego. Except for Dad, who wasn’t able to make it, but was hooked in via Skype!

I loved working with this couple, and had a blast with Lisa, who taught me the correct pronunciation of “Aussie.” and introduced me to Australian treat – TimTams. yum!

Hilary Medovich with the Del was fantastic to work with – she made everything so easy.
As did DJ Kelley. From the moment the music started, the dance floor was never empty.
And great as always to work with Mark Hillis – once again records it all beautifully with incredible and creative photography.

Continental Catering knows how to throw a party!   Last night at their Fall Fete they shared some great ideas for fall events:

Continental is always so talented by combining innovation with the tried-and-true:

Tasty fluffy miniscones get the full treatment – from chocolate to whip cream, and berries in between!

Delicious mini scones with a huge selection of toppings – berries and smooth chocolate with a top of fresh whip cream.

For a refreshing fall libation, fruit and cloves soaked for days in vodka then poured into Martinelli’s – sweet!

Why not create a cupcake tower!  Wedding cakes are beautiful works of art and the cakecutting ceremony represents the time-honored tradition of fertility and unity of the couple.

For a twist, a tower of individual gourmet cupcakes offers your guests the opportunity to choose their own personal delight. You can still perform the traditional cakecutting with a small tier or caketop at the top of the cupcake tower. Delish!  Cupcakes provided by Cupcakes Squared. Photo by ChelseaAnn Photograpy

Treat your guests to harmony on the palate by pairing an assortment of mini desserts & pastries with just the right wines.

Pairing Tips:

*Keep wine sweeter than the food

*Fruity, nutty & chocolaty desserts are easier to pair than creamy temptations

*Some wines do not like dessert

*Some dessert just wants to be alone

One of my new favorites couples, thanks to Elaine’s expertise, is a BANFI, Bracchetto d’Aqui “Rosa Regale” – a sweet light rosy wine- complemented by a light custard fruit tart.
