Congratulations to Alyson & Erik!
beach-heart-

My first wedding couple of 2018 (!) held a beautiful and intimate Winter Wedding, mid-week on the beach. The “Just Us Two” ceremony (plus 2 friends as witnesses) in Pacific Beach was intimate, heartfelt, and incorporated personal selections.
These two tied the knot – literally – with a knot-tying unity ceremony.
And included a favorite quote from Kurt Vonnegut:

And I urge you to please notice
when you are happy,
and exclaim or murmur,
or think at some point,
‘If this isn’t nice, I don’t know what is.’

They drove over from Tucson for the quintessential toes-in-the-sand wedding ceremony. And though it was a cloudy/foggy day, San Diego did deliver a bit of a sunset for them.

Congratulations you two!

It was a special day in March, on the cliff outcropping, with the waves crashing. Bradley and Brenwynne said “I Do” in this gorgeous natural setting in an intimate wedding ceremony.

The couple chose the traditional Celtic “HandBinding” (or “HandFasting”) to share their wedding vows, and crafted the six questions in this ritual to support their own relationship and marriage.

As a nondenominational wedding minister I always encourage couples to include readings and poems in their ceremony that are meaningful for them. And the best part for me is being introduced to readings I haven’t seen before! Like this one, called I Know A Love.

So happy to see the pics from officiating the wedding ceremony for Chelsy and Mario. They were such a fun couple at their August wedding at the beautiful Hilton Mission Bay.

Toes-in-the-sand San Diego wedding

They had a true toes-in-the-sand San Diego wedding!

During the craziness of gathering everyone for the wedding rehearsal, they had a cute phrase they said to each other, “honey, lead by example.”

Aside from their beautiful vows to each other and the meaningful readings during the ceremony, I feel like that phrase really exemplified who they are, and the support and encouragement they give each other.

So fun to work with the amazing Sara France on this one! Thank you for the fantastic pics Sara!
