An attendee of a talk I gave recently on house energy clearings, described a piece of furniture that caused her emotional pain every time she looked at it. It was a treasured piece, but she associated it with a relationship that ended badly.

I shared techniques to ‘ground’ the furniture, release the energy of its memories and bring in new intentions for the item. She said rather than sell the piece as she had planned, she would give the techniques a try.

A few weeks after the talk, I ran into her in a mall parking lot. She told me she’d used the grounding techniques, and not only did she keep her beloved furniture, she was able to forgive and find peace around the previous relationship.

Energy can be powerful, and it can be shifted.

This review that popped up on Wedding Wire Dec. 28 is one of the best holiday gifts I could receive, and a pretty great wrap-up to a great year.

Sometimes I wish I could give my clients reviews and testimonials.

They so inspire, delight, and surprise me.

My purpose is driven by guiding clients to pause, notice, honor and celebrate, important moments in their life.

We don’t pause often enough.

A sacred ceremony or celebration is an opportunity to step out of all the “DO-ingness” of life for a moment, and experience the BEING-ness.

Time can slow down in these moments.

And you might experience a bit of greatness within yourself and your loved ones, that you hadn’t previously known.

In the new year, if you are . . .

planning your wedding

crafting a memorial service to say goodbye to a loved one

welcoming a new little life into yours, with a baby blessing

. . . please know that no matter how seemingly traditional your ceremony might be, you have so much creativity, beauty, and inspiration inside of you, and you can’t imagine where that can take you.

Taking the time to honor these times will make you shine, and those around you will be honored to see it, whether they are professionals helping you craft your celebration, or your dearest friends, who get to see you in a whole new light. And they just might want to give you a rave review.

What is a great way to take a mini-break from a chilly holiday-filled December? With beautiful images from a summer wedding!

Thank you to amazing professional wedding photographer Brant Bender for gorgeous photos!

What a privilege to officiate this August wedding ceremony. These two were so sweet and created a beautiful celebration at Bernardo Winery:

A First Look photo opp before the ceremony is a great way to share an intimate moment, and take a little pressure of the 'big reveal' when she walks down the aisle.

A fun and romantic celebration at the recessional when Mr. and Mrs. are showered with rose petals!

This past week while volunteering at Deepak Chopra’s Seduction of Spirit conference in La Costa, I had a variety of duties, such as assisting with registration, guiding people to events, and manning the doors of the ballroom space. It was incredible to be among more than 400 people who were seeking a greater connection to the Divine, through Deepak’s programs and teachings.

One of the days, while manning my post at the door, I got into a conversation with an attendee.

She asked, “Do you work at the Chopra center?” I told her I was simply volunteering during the week for the conference.

SHE: “So, what is your job? Did you have to take a whole week off from your job to do this?”

ME: “I have my own business, so I gave myself the week off.”

SHE: “What do you do?”

ME: “I am a nondenominational minister – I perform weddings, baby blessings, memorials, home clearings.”

SHE: “But what is your church? Do you give services?”

ME: “I don’t have a flock, nor do I give sermons.” I shared with her that I officiate and facilitate ceremonies and blessings for sacred moments. And I don’t follow a particular religion. Instead I read books and learn tools and attend programs that will help me connect with God/the Divine. To bring that same energy to every service I officiate or perform. Whatever it takes, my end goal is to experience my own direct connection with God.

I have had this conversation often, in many variations and with all different kinds of people, and I so appreciate the questions. I think a lot of people feel confusion about spirituality and religion and how it fits into our lives.

Come join the conversation:

My mother came for a visit this summer. She stayed for a week. I gave her my bedroom, and I slept in my garage-converted-to-sanctuary on a fancy airmattress.

My sanctuary has carpeting and drapes and couch and ottoman, and a massage table for my reiki clients. It’s a lovely space, but even still, I wasn’t sure how great I would sleep “out in the garage.”

Truth is, I slept more deeply and soundly during that week than I have in a very long time. Which seemed perplexing, until I realized, “Oh, yes, the energy.”

HouseHealimageEven though it is technically the garage, the majority of activity in that space is of prayer, healing and meditation. No wonder I slept so well. Now I need to do more prayer and meditation in my bedroom and bring that same great energy there!

Every room in your home has a different energy, based on your behaviors, emotions, and activities while you’re in that room.

And, guess what? You can shift the energy.

As a nondenominational minister I facilitate Home and Business Energy Clearings.
As we move into October it is a great time to make that final energetic transition from Summer into Fall.

Now you can learn how, too:
